The Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) was established by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the approval of the Government on 8th September 2010. The Council was officially launched on 17th December 2010.
VBCSD is a business-led organization with the mandate to promote the business community’s active role in and strong advocacy for the implementation of the Strategic Orientation for Sustainable Development in Vietnam. VBCSD facilitates and promotes the sharing of experience, solutions and good practices on sustainable development, and strengthens dialogues and close coordination among business community, the Government and civil organizations on this domain.
To disseminate policies on sustainable development (SD) to business, assist business to implement orientation and policies on SD.
To connect government agencies and business community to provide information and reflect business’s need during SD implementation.
To organize training workshops for business community and society to improve awareness on SD and integration into the global economy.
To develop case study, initiatives, pilot demonstrations.
To implement researches on SD.

Strategy (2011-2015) and vision to 2020 for business community in sustainable development will be brought onto the scene and further enhanced;
To spread the implications of the Council to the business community and other relevant stakeholders;
To connect the governmental agencies and business community with an aim to provide information and reflect the business's needs in the implementation of sustainable development programs;
The supply of information on all activities of the business community for sustainable development in Vietnam and in the world will be strengthened.
To improve the business's awareness and promote its role in realising the Strategic Orientation for Sustainable Development in Vietnam;
