Training Workshop on Business and Sustainable Development

On July 22, the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) held a workshop entitled " Business and Sustainable Development " with the aim of raising the understanding of business roles in sustainable development for business leaders, PR managers, sustainable development managers, and communication managers from VBCSD member companies.
 
Distinguished participants included Ph.D Doan Duy Khuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Co-chair of VBCSD, Mr Nguyen Quang Vinh - Director of Office for Business Sustainable Development and the General Secretary, ministerial officials, and business leaders.
 
This programme is part of VBCSD activities in 2011. VBCSD focuses on disseminating national target programmes on sustainable development, response to climate change, energy conservation and sustainable development experience sharing.
 
At the workshop, Mr Nguyen Quang Vinh highlighted that global context of population growth and socioeconomic development is tied to sustainable development and introduced the Vision to 2050 of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
 
VBCSD will host a general meeting on August 16, 2011 at Meeting Hall 1, Floor 7, VCCI Tower at No. 9 Dao Duy Anh Street, Hanoi. This is also a part of VBCSD’s workplan in 2011 and an effort to strengthen VBCSD’s roles in sustainable development. The meeting will assemble VBCSD member companies, officials, business associations, domestic and international organizations, embassies and others.
