Mondelez Kinh Do strengthens university partnerships to develop future talent for sustainable growth

In alignment with its sustainable development strategy that puts people at the center, Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam has recently launched a long-term collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic training and real-world industry needs, offering engineering students early exposure to modern manufacturing environments. It is part of Mondelez Kinh Do’s long-term vision to build a strong and well-trained pipeline of future talent, contributing to a sustainable and inclusive development ecosystem.

Over several months of implementation, Mondelez Kinh Do teams worked closely with university partners to deliver a range of meaningful and practical activities – from specialized seminars to career orientation events. These efforts helped students gain valuable insights into the industry and a broader understanding of their future roles in the manufacturing sector.

One of the key highlights of the program was the “Lean Six Sigma – Myths & Reality” seminar, co-hosted with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The event offered students a real-world perspective on operations and manufacturing transformations in the plant environment, resulting in a great number of questions and curiosity.

In addition, the “Mondelez Plant Inside Out” factory tour gave students an up-close look at how a Mondelez plant operates. During the tour, students had the chance to meet the factory team, hear directly from plant leaders, and learn about the IL6S (Integrated Lean Six Sigma) journey – all while experiencing the proud, energetic workplace culture that powers the company every day.

Following these engagement activities, students officially joined the Mondelez Kinh Do national internship program, where they were selected from over 2,000 applicants nationwide. Over the course of the internship, students work on real projects to accelerate IL6S phase progression, closely guided by experienced mentors across the plant. The program will conclude with a presentation to the Plant Leadership Team – an opportunity for students to reflect on their journey and receive feedback for continued growth.

Ms. Lien Tran, Country People Lead at Mondelez Kinh Do, share about this initiative: “This collaboration truly reflects our core values. ‘Grow Everyday’ encourages us to continuously learn and help others develop, while ‘Do What’s Right’ inspires us to invest in our community and create inclusive opportunities for the future. By giving students early exposure to real-world experiences, we’re not only preparing future talent to support our sustainable growth, but also making a meaningful contribution to Vietnam’s broader talent development.”

As a company that views people development as a key pillar of long-term growth, Mondelez Kinh Do is committed to building a sustainable talent ecosystem – where businesses, universities, and students collaborate to generate lasting value. Investing in the next generation of engineers not only helps the company proactively build a capable future workforce, but also contributes to strengthening Vietnam’s manufacturing talent base to serve the broader goal of sustainable community and economic development.
