C.P. Vietnam Corporation joins to renew Container Libraries for primary schools

For more than 30 years of doing business in Vietnam, C.P. Vietnam Corporation (C.P. Vietnam) has followed the “Three Benefits” philosophy: creating value for the country, for the people and for the company. In October 2026, C.P. Vietnam, together with the Youth Social Work Club (YSWC) and partner companies including Maersk Vietnam and LYS Energy Vietnam, returned to refresh the Container Libraries in Tay Ninh and Vinh Long. It is a journey these partners have shared since the first libraries were donated to schools in disadvantaged areas.

Continuing a four-year journey

Four years ago, old shipping containers were converted into reading spaces inside school grounds. For many rural children, it was the first place where they could choose a book they loved. C.P. Vietnam has been one of the companies accompanying YSWC since the model’s earliest days.

To keep the libraries sustainable in both physical and spiritual terms, YSWC launched the “Reconnect & Develop Container Library” program and invited C.P. Vietnam and its partners to return. The program has three main activities: inspecting and maintaining the libraries’ facilities; adding new books, learning equipment and gifts for the children; and organizing a reading festival. The organizers shared: “The Container Library is not only a place that keeps books, but a place that opens countless new worlds to children through the pages of those books.”

Nhơn Hòa Lập Commune, Tay Ninh Province: “Together with Children to School”

On October 9, C.P. Vietnam and its partners visited Nhơn Hòa Lập School in Nhơn Hòa Lập Commune, Tay Ninh Province (an area formerly part of Long An Province), as part of the “Together with Children to School” program (in Vietnamese, “Cùng Em Đến Trường”). The Container Library received 700 new books, and 98 gifts from C.P. Vietnam were presented to the students, along with words of encouragement to keep up their good behavior and studies.

Tân Xuân Commune, Vinh Long Province: book and gift festival on October 15

On October 15, representatives of C.P. Vietnam, together with YSWC and partner companies, attended the “Container Library” book and gift presentation ceremony at Phước Ngãi Primary School, now part of Tân Xuân Commune, Vinh Long Province (formerly Phước Ngãi Commune, Ben Tre Province). The library received 600 new books, and 85 gifts from C.P. Vietnam were presented to the school’s students.

The ceremony was attended by local government representatives, the school’s leadership and teachers, and representatives of the parents’ association. During the event, students took part in awareness-raising activities and games with prizes, which offered accessible lessons on environmental protection and road safety.

C.P. Vietnam: working together for future generations

Across the two schools, the program added 1,300 new books to the Container Libraries and provided 183 gifts to students. These results reflect the joint efforts of YSWC, businesses, local authorities, schools and parents.

A C.P. Vietnam representative said that accompanying the Container Library program over many years, together with its partners, reflects the “Three Benefits” spirit the company follows: “The company hopes students will always have access to new information, develop their thinking and understanding of real-world issues, and grow into modern citizens who contribute to building the country’s future.”

Supporting the community does not stop at a single donation. The company chooses to return, to inspect, maintain and add to these reading spaces together, so they can be sustained for the long term and benefit many generations of students. This approach is consistent with the company’s sustainable development orientation: investing in education so that local communities grow together with the business, and turning old containers into environmentally friendly learning spaces.

"For C.P. Vietnam Corporation, sustainable development is not just a commitment—it is a core foundation where the interests of the country and the community are always prioritized. The company continuously strives to build a sustainable economic ecosystem that harmonizes with society and the environment, ensuring that every step forward by C.P. Vietnam is for a green, prosperous, and sustainable Vietnam."
