Vietnam's position as one of the countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change has been confirmed in a report launched by the Asian Development Bank.  According UNDP, millions of people in Vietnam may face famine, water shortage and flooding in coastal areas because of global warming and rising sea level.

 

It is obvious that climate change will adversely impact businesses. However, as a main driver of the socio-economical activities, will businesses be able to do anything to mitigate and/or adapt to climate change? Is climate change only an inevitable challenge for businesses to overcome, or it is also an ineligible opportunity for entrepreneurs to grasp?

 

 

With the aim of exploring the role of businesses in responding to climate change Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development is organizing a half-day training workshop on “Business and Climate Change”, facilitated by Dr. Nguyen Huu Ninh, a co-author of 2007 Nobel Prize winning report on climate change and Dr. Duong Thanh An, Director, Department of Policy and Legislation, Vietnam Environment Administration (MONRE) cum Head, Vietnam Green Label Office.
