Updated information about VBCSD training workshop

 Dear all VBCSD members,

The training workshop on “Business and Climate Change” has been successfully organized by the VBCSD. There were 58 participants in the workshop, of which 23 from business sector and 35 from government agencies, training institutions, NGO, media, etc. All the presentations were well-received by participants as they are the subject matter experts and excellent facilitators in adult training.

Businesses have been aware of risks and challenges of Climate Change. Big businesses are establishing and implementing programs to adapt/cope with climate change. Top notch experts in Climate Change are working for big businesses in preparing and implementing such programs. Business champions in Climate Change have helped shape momentum for other businesses in the effort of adapting/mitigating Climate Change.

Green labeling is will add values to the brand and products of enterprises, especially of those exporters to foreign markets.
 
Training on Disaster Risk Reduction has been welcomed by businesses, given the fact that very few businesses in Viet Nam have strategy/plan for disaster risk reduction.

The open discussion was chaired by the presenters and VBCSD Secretary General and was very interactive and informative. Some participants, especially those from business associations, expressed the need for replicating this training workshop to more businesses in their association, for the necessity and usefulness of the training workshop.
