Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam continues to advance its circular economy journey through active participation in the 2025 Annual Conference of the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam), under the theme “Science and Technology – The Driver of Circular Economy Development.” With over 30 member companies present, the conference showcased strong collective efforts to drive sustainable development across industries in Vietnam.
At the event, Mondelez Kinh Do displayed a variety of sustainable packaging innovations implemented across its brands such as OREO, Cosy, Solite, AFC, and Kinh Do Fresh.
The sustainability anitiatives include reducing plastic use, optimizing packaging size, minimizing ink in design, and increasing the use of materials that are designed for recycling. These efforts support the company’s global target to make 100% of packaging designed to be recyclable by 2025, minimizing environmental impact starting from the initial stages.
Besides Packaging, the company also works toward sustainability through main core pillars including sustainable ingredients, climate, and social impact.
To promote the circular economy in paper and plastic, Mondelez Kinh Do collaborates with partners to collect and recycle packaging waste including paper and plastic. The “Trash Right” program, implemented in schools and communities, also helps educate students and teachers on sorting and recycling habits. These efforts have shown the company’s sustainability commitments, from advancing internal operations, to spreading sustainable living behaviors to the community.
Mondelez Kinh Do also partners with Green Connect in order to upcycle food waste into animal feed, which is then used in the production of eggs. The closed-loop model does not only help reducing landfill waste, but also bring values to the consumers. From 2024 until now, through this partnership, Mondelez Kinh Do has succeeded in collecting hundreds of tons of foodwaste for upcycling.
In terms of its plants’ operations, the company continues to reduce its environmental impact at the Binh Duong and Hung Yen plants by cutting water consumption and CO₂ emissions through a series of green production initiatives.
These initiatives reflect Mondelez Kinh Do’s strong commitment to driving sustainability across its operations, thereby contributing to a more circular and responsible future for Vietnam.
In alignment with its sustainable development strategy that puts people at the center, Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam has recently launched a long-term collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.
