Hochiminh City, 23rd July 2021 – With the desire to join hands in performing the Covid-19 prevention and control program to protect people health, Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam has committed to donate 3 billion VND (130.000 USD) to the National Covid-19 Vaccine Fund, contributed through Vaccine Fund of three provinces including Ho Chi Minh City (1,3 billion VND), Binh Duong province (1 billion VND) and Hung Yen province (700 million VND). The donation will be used for vaccination for people in Vietnam.
As planned, the contributed amount of 3 billion VND will be deducted from the sales of 3 million packages of Kinh Do fresh sponge cake in August 2021 by Mondelez Kinh Do. The company has also transferred the above amount to the three provinces in advance through the local Fatherland Front Committees.
Vietnam Government decided to establish The Covid-19 Vaccine Fund to receive and manage domestic and foreign fundings, support and contribution. The fund, together with State Budget, is for vaccine purchase and import as well as for research and production of domestic vaccines to inoculate people against the Covid-19. It is expected that Vietnam needs to buy 150 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to vaccinate roughly 75 million people, with a total estimated funding need of 25.2 trillion VND.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, Mondelez Kinh Do has been one of the enterprises giving support to the community with active activities. Previously, the company donated 7,000 cases of products with a total value of more than 5 billion VND (217.000 USD) to frontline medical workers and people living in quarantined areas to supply them with nutritious food and to send its encouragement to them in the tough time.
