Hanoi, May 26, 2022 – The Programme on Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Companies in Vietnam (CSI) 2022 has been officially launched, marking the 7th consercutive years on its success despite challenges caused by Covid-19. In 2022, the Programme will be continued by the cooperation between Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (with Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development – VBCSD as the key), Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, targeted to benchmarking, gathering and commending best business practices on responsible production and operation over the three comprehensive perspective: Economic – Social – Environment. The kick-off ceremony of CSI 2022 attracted almost 200 participants who join directly and over 300 online viewers from international organizations, diplomatic corps, business associations, media agencies and businesses.
In his opening remarks for the kick-off ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh – VCCI Vice Executive Chairman, VBCSD Chairman asserted: “After 02 long years under the disease, our business community has better experimented the essential role, tendency and positive impact of the sustainable development business model. The model is not only a magnetic needle for their growth in a stable status, but also an anchor for their stand and a wheel for their adaptation and recovery when facing the tsunami of risk. Aside from the compliance to local laws, their pursuing and realizing to responsible production has now been pushing by the market demands. Along with the economic growth, the rise of income, human knowledge and global integration has resulted in higher awareness and responsibility of Vietnamese customers in choosing green product and services, which were made by green production process. Therefore, sustainable business is a response to customers’ demand, which will turn back to be a long-term benefit for companies.”
