On May 10, 2022, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ben Tre province held "the conference of 1 year of implementation of the Ben Tre plant project and implementation of the project in 2022" at the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.
Overview of the conference
As one of the strategic partners of the province's plant project, C.P. Vietnam was honoured to participate in the conference with the representatives of Mr. Krittaphol Huanpeeb Deputy General Director of Ben Tre Shrimp Hatchery, and Mr. Worawit Arunraksa, Assistant Deputy General Director in charge of the Sustainable Development Department, and Mr. Tu Lanh Manager of Ben Tre Shrimp Hatchery.
The event had the participation of more than 60 delegates, including representatives of leaders of provincial departments and agencies; the People's Committee; the Police Office; Military representatives; the Word Bank of Vietnam-Ben Tre Branch; NGOs and the media.
At the conference, Mr. Tu Lanh gave a speech "Green Vietnam Journey" in the period of 2021-2025 with the goal of planting 200,000 trees at Ben Tre province. As a result of the implementation in 2021, CPV has cooperated with the province and related partners to plant 40 hectares of forest with 160,000 trees (31,200 scattered trees and 129,000 mangrove trees), contributing 46.5% of the province's tree planting scheme in 2021, and is an activity in response to the Prime Minister's advice to plant 1 billion trees by 2025.
In order to aim for sustainability and a green future for Ben Tre province. At the event, representatives of the Ben Tre provincial government and investors exchanged ideas on the project and future activities of planting trees in the province.
For the project to be sustainable, in 2022, CPV plans to coordinate with the province local government to carry out rich activities to mobilize and raise awareness of tree planting and forest protection, contributing to limiting the negative impact of climate change. At the same time, coordinate with relevant partners to care for and protect 34.93ha of newly planted forests in 2021 and raise 5.07ha of natural regeneration on the land of the riverside mudflat in Thanh Hai commune to increase the area of coastal protection forests.

It can be seen that the success of the project has contributed to the successful implementation of the provincial tree planting project 2021-2025, complementing the government's plan to plant 1 billion trees. As a practical action to contribute to protecting the ecological environment, improving the landscape and responding to climate change, socio-economic development, improving the quality of people's lives and the sustainable development of the country.
