HCMC, January 2023 - Tet holiday is not only an opportunity for people to come together to wish for a happy new year but also a chance for us to share the best luck with the disadvantaged. In the Tet season 2023, Mondelez Kinh Do kicks off a community program "See Kinh Do, Give Tet," aiming to bring a meaningful and warm Tet atmosphere to unprivileged children across the country.
Meaningful Tet gifts given out to unprivileged children
Mondelez Kinh Do believes every child deserves a Tet season full of joy and happiness. Therefore the company has designed various activities in this community program to give a “meaningful Tet" to more than 1,000 disadvantaged children in shelters across the country. Accordingly, the children experienced joyful moments with Tet colorful decorations, lion dance performances, and fun games to welcome the Tet festival. The program becomes more attractive with the participation of two famous young artists, singer Hoang Dung and MC Hoang Oanh. The two artists joined in playing games with the children and brought a bustling Tet atmosphere with songs with delightful lyrics and exciting rhythms.
As part of the program, Mondelez Kinh Do has given out thousands of gift packs, including toys, stationaries, warm clothes… to the children for the new year and confectionery products from the company’s famous brands, enabling them to have a happy Tet.
It is known that Mondelez Kinh Do has deducted 10% of the revenue generated from the sales on the special day 12/12 on two e-commerce channels, Lazada and Shopee, to fund this program.
“Giving and sharing is an integral part of Vietnam’s traditions and Kinh Do has always stood for keeping our traditions and values alive. With the mission of building meaningful relation with our consumers and contributing for the community, this year, Mondelez Kinh Do gives a meaningful Tet to the underprivileged children through the campaign "See Kinh Do, Give Tet”. We hope that this small act will bring happiness and warmth to these kids in the beginning of the year and lighten up their TET”, said Sameer Yadav, Marketing Director of Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam.
Ms. Muoi from Thien Duyen Shelter (Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City), one of the shelters receiving gifts from the “See Kinh Do, Give Tet” program, shared: “On behalf of the children living at the center, we are sincerely grateful for the care and support from Mondelez Kinh Do and the community. These meaningful gifts will help bring the children a warm Tet holiday and encourage them to overcome their difficult circumstances and gain achievements at school and in life”.
Besides the children living at Thien Duyen Shelter, children at other shelters across the country, such as Thien Phuoc Nhan Ai Shelter, Binh Trieu Development Center (Thu Duc, HCMC), Hope Village (Da Nang), Dong Da Friendship Children's House (Hanoi)... also received gifts bringing warm love and bustling Tet vibe from the program "See Kinh Do, Give Tet" when the Lunar New Year is fast approaching.
Looking at the children’s happy smiles when they received meaningful presents for the Tet holidays, soeur Xuan from Binh Trieu Development Center said: "While this year's conditions are still difficult, Kinh Do's Tet program has come at the right time to bring a joyful Tet holiday to all the children here. We feel very warm and deeply appreciate the affection of evryone from Mondelez Kinh Do and the community to our center."
“We are moved by the love Mondelez Kinh Do and the community have shown to less fortunate children during the Tet holidays. We were quite worried about the upcoming Tet season when the center's conditions were still difficult. But when Kinh Do Tet bus comes to visit, bringing everyone's love to our children here, we are very happy that now they can enjoy a fuller, more joyful Tet holiday.”, Ms. Thom from the Hope Village shared.
Joining hands with community to do good things to welcome a new year
"See Kinh Do, Give Tet" is Mondelez Kinh Do's first program with the participation of the community. To be part of the meaningful program, consumers purchased the high-quality Tet products of Mondelez Kinh Do on the special sales day 12/12. It is a practical contribution showing the Vietnamese tradition of mutual solidarity and love.
Specially, consumers can participate in Kinh Do’s Tet gift buses to bring the entire Tet atmosphere to disadvantaged children.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, who joined one of the Tet gift buses with her two children, shared, “I am delighted that Kinh Do has created an opportunity for 3 of us to do a good and special thing together on this time of the new year. Seeing my kids playing with the children at the Thien Phuoc Nhan Ai Shelter in one of the Tet gift buses, I am proud that my family has participated in a meaningful program. Thanks to it, my kids have experience doing good acts for the community.”
In pursuit of sustainable business development in Vietnam, Mondelez Kinh Do has constantly been making positive and persistent social responsibility contributions to the community over the years. From the beginning of 2022 until now, Mondelez Kinh Do has donated more than 17,000 boxes of confectionery with a total value of more than 9.6 billion VND to the community through cooperation with Food Bank Vietnam to support the community to overcome difficulties. As a familiar and beloved brand for the Vietnamese Tet festival, this year, Kinh Do continues to raise its brand value by enhancing its connection with the community through practical activities of the program "See Kinh Do, Give Tet” to make a memorable Tet season for everyone.
