and Champion all sustainability targets

Coca-Cola has remained persistent in its contribution to socio-economic recovery and development and creating a driving force for growth in the new normal in Vietnam.

  • Fresh and Clean Water is a top business priority. It is the principal ingredient in the products we make and is critical for the agricultural products we use. Through the 2030 Water Security Strategy we announced in 2021, we’re focused on achieving water security where the company operates and sources ingredients, concentrating on water-stressed areas—while maintaining 100% replenishment globally. In 2022, we have returned 265% of the water used in our finished beverages to nature and communities, equivalent to 3,5 billion litters in Vietnam.
  •  World Without Waste: By 2030, the company aims to collect and recycle every bottle and can we sell and at the same time use 50% recycled material in our packaging. We are fundamentally rethinking how we get our products to consumers, including what kind of packaging to use and whether a package is needed at all. In November 2022, we exceeded the target and reach 180% KPI for PET collection equivalent to 10.500 MT. Viet Nam is also the market with the highest collection RATE in ASP.

Innovating towards more sustainable packaging, we have removed the plastic seal on Dasani water bottles to reduce 1 single use plastic. We are using the reach of our brands to inspire people to recycle with a prominent RECYCLE ME message on all our packages. We've made it easier to recycle our bottles into something new. This includes changing our iconic Sprite bottles from green to clear PET plastic. In September 2022, Coca-Cola Vietnam also took another meaningful step towards supporting a circular economy by introducing 300ml bottles of COCA-COLA Original and COCA-COLA Zero Sugar made from 100% recycled PET plastic (rPET) across the country, avoiding using around 2,000 tonnes of new plastic in Vietnam annually.
