On the occasion of the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023), in two days from May 18 to 19, 2023, a representative of the Board of Directors of C.P Vietnam Corporation (CPV) participated in the launching ceremonies of 'Eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho' tree-planting campaign and the Prime Minister's program to plant 1 billion trees "For a green Vietnam" in two provinces of Dong Thap and Dong Nai.

In response to the Prime Minister's call to plant one billion trees, CPV has implemented the project "CPV - Journey for a Green Vietnam" in the 2021-2025 with the goal of planting 1.5 million trees for Vietnam with the budget is more than 1 million USD. The project started from planting 500,000 trees at the company's factories and farms. And 1 million trees in many provinces and cities in Vietnam.
In 2023, the company continues to expand the tree planting project in Dong Nai province with the goal of planting and taking care of 10 hectares of mangroves, and Dong Thap province will plant and take care of 115,799 sonneratia caseolaris trees in 107 riverbanks and canals are at risk of landslides in 30 communes in the districts of Cao Lanh, Lap Vo, Lai Vung, Chau Thanh and Sa Dec city.

The project has helped to increase the amount of forest, prevent erosion, stabilize alluvial flats, the infrastructure along rivers and canals, better safeguard locals' lives and production, preserve the ecological environment, and enhance quality of life. Additionally, reduce the negative effects of climate change on Vietnam's cities and provinces in particular as well as nationwide.

CPV leaders join hands to plant trees
Through this project, the company also hopes to expand afforestation activities to more than 30,000 employees to increase employee understanding of the importance of planting trees and protecting the environment, which also protects our health and lives. The company wants to keep growing to many provinces and cities to jointly expand the green color as well as restore and sustainably develop the forest area as we always recognize the importance of planting trees to create forests and environmental protection operations. Many businesses and locals are involved in the cultivation and purchase of tobacco leaves in Krong Pa, Gia Lai - where BAT has one of the largest leaf-growing areas in Vietnam. This plant has helped 700-800 households earn a better living for many years.
