INSEE VIETNAM ACCOMPANIED WITH PARTNERS HANDOVERED THE “MANG NON” BOOK STATION FOR CHILDREN IN RURAL AREA

On April 23, 2024, INSEE Vietnam organized the Handover Ceremony of “Mang Non” Book Station at Binh Tri Primary & Secondary School, Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province with the participation of local authorities, school administrators, and partners. After 2 months of construction, the “Mang Non” Book Station was officially completed, bringing knowledge to rural area pupils.

The "Mang Non" Book Station project, conceived during the INSEE Prize 2022 competition, involved students from the National University - Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Selected from over 200 competing topics, they received support from INSEE and partners for practical implementation. The students actively participated in all project stages, including design adjustments, area surveys, and construction supervision.

At the handover ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Huong, Chairman of Kien Luong District People's Committee, emphasized the significant contribution of the 'Mang Non' Book Station project to the local education development goals, particularly benefiting children in Binh Tri commune, where access to educational facilities is limited, especially among ethnic minorities.

The "Mang Non" Book Station distinguishes itself by emitting zero CO2 during operation, achieved through the utilization of construction materials and equipment with low carbon emissions and green certificates. These include INSEE cement, Conwood, Nippon paint, Kingspan panels, Reetech energy-saving air conditioners, and a REE solar system with a 20kwh/day capacity (maximum project capacity: 9kwh/day). The station received the Lotus Green Building certification (Gold level) from the Vietnam Green Building Council. With an area exceeding 60 square meters, it will accommodate over 600 students and teachers, providing access to a wealth of educational resources.
