Nearly two weeks after super typhoon Yagi passed, it has left significant damage to production and the lives of people in the northern provinces. With the spirit of ‘mutual support and affection,’ the Dutch Lady milk brand under FrieslandCampina Vietnam has carried nutritious love to the people of Ha Nam and Yen Bai provinces, bringing nearly 70,000 servings of fresh milk with a motivation to support fellow citizens.
Ha Nam Province, where FrieslandCampina is one of the first foreign-invested enterprises in the field of milk and dairy product production, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, is one of many localities suffering severe damage from the recent floods.
Nguyen Van Cuong, one of the many dairy farmers in Ha Nam Province participating in FrieslandCampina Vietnam’s Dairy Development Program (DDP) for nearly 30 years, emotionally said: ‘When the floods came, the grass was submerged in water, and the cows couldn’t have fresh grass to eat. Fortunately, the dairy farmers in the DDP program received timely visits, encouragement, and support from the company with bags of silage to ensure the cows didn’t go hungry during this difficult time.”
Many farms were devastated after Typhoon Yagi. In response to this situation, the Dutch Lady milk brand quickly implemented various practical activities to support dairy farming households in Ha Nam through the DDP program
In recent days, hundreds of thousands of households have been in extremely difficult situations, lacking essential supplies. Additionally, many people in various places are still living in isolation. Many heavily devastated areas have yet to be reached. The recovery efforts from the floods in the northern region will be very challenging ahead.
In Yen Bai Province, many families are facing difficulties in recovering and stabilizing their lives after the disaster, especially children, who are the most vulnerable.
Dutch Lady milk brand representatives have kindly visited and encouraged the people of Yen Bai, providing tens of thousands of milk portions. This is one of the localities that suffered severe damage from the recent floods and natural disasters.
In the efforts to support local people, particularly children and families severely affected by Typhoon Yagi, the volunteer groups from the Dutch Lady milk brand were deeply moved when witnessing many unfortunate circumstances.
With muddy feet, 8-year-old A. and his two younger siblings were overjoyed to receive delicious Dutch Lady milk. Ms. L., the children’s mother, shared that since the disaster struck, the family had received food and essential supplies from benefactors, but today was the first time she saw her children so excited to drink milk again.
‘Among the relief supplies, families with young children like mine really need nutritious milk because it provides timely nutrition for growing children and even for adults,’ Ms. L. said.
The milk portions provide energy, helping children and people in the flood-affected areas maintain their health and spirit to overcome difficulties and quickly recover from the aftermath of the storm.
As one of the world’s leading nutrition companies committed to bringing better nutrition to everyone, FrieslandCampina Vietnam has joined hands with political and social organizations such as the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Vietnam Women’s Union, and local distributors to bring practical gifts and small, warm joys to the people in the flood-affected areas.
A representative of the local government in Ha Nam expressed gratitude: “During the floods, essential supplies like nutritious food, especially milk, are crucial to support the people, particularly children. In many areas, people have been living in flooded conditions for days, lacking many necessities. The support from the Dutch Lady brand is very timely during this period. I believe that with solidarity and community support, everyone will overcome the difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.”
The whole country is focusing on the North, and the Dutch Lady brand wishes to contribute a small part to share the difficulties with the people there
To ensure no one is left behind, representatives of the Dutch Lady brand have undertaken many positive and timely activities to help overcome difficulties for the families of the company’s employees and distributors, aiding in rebuilding and stabilizing their lives. Alongside practical gifts, handshakes, words of encouragement, and visits have shown deep care and noble, humane gestures to both internal employees and the company’s partners.
Though small, the milk portions carry heartfelt sentiments, sharing, and a belief that peaceful days will soon return. The Dutch Lady milk brand will continue this meaningful journey by collaborating with local distributors to implement a loving price support program for charitable organizations and flood relief, providing free transportation to requested locations.
