Vietnam, August 2024 – Premier health and wellness company Herbalife Vietnam collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion Hematology Hospital and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to organize Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2024 at Herbalife Vietnam's offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This is the seventh year this activity has been organized, as part of Herbalife's long tradition of giving back to the community.
The two blood donation days received a high response from Herbalife Vietnam's Independent Members and employees, together with their relatives and friends, resulting in a total of 294 blood units being collected.
Mr. Vu Van Thang, General Manager for Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia, said: "Organizing annual voluntary blood donation activities is in line with Herbalife's CSR priorities, which aim to support initiatives nurturing health and well-being within the community. I am proud that our Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2024 has continued to receive a strong response from our Independent Members and employees, and their relatives and friends."
According to the World Health Organization, blood is needed by women with complications during pregnancy and childbirth, children with severe anemia (often resulting from malaria or malnutrition), accident victims, and patients who undergo surgery or have cancer. There is a constant need for a regular supply of blood, because it can be stored only for a limited period of time before use. Regular blood donations are needed to ensure that blood will always be available whenever and wherever it is needed.
