Mondelez Kinh Do brings Mid-Autumn Festival to thousands of children and provides food relief to typhoon-affected areas

As Northern Vietnam faces severe impacts from typhoons and flooding, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival takes on an even greater significance, embodying the spirit of solidarity and compassion. Communities have come together to support one another in overcoming the difficulties caused by natural disasters, and Mondelez Kinh Do is proud to be a part of this effort. With a focus on sharing and togetherness, Mondelez Kinh Do reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility through various practical activities.

Recently, Mondelez Kinh Do, in collaboration with the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism), donated 5,200 Kinh Đô mooncakes to children in need, with a total value of more than 300 million VND. These gifts are not only material support but also a gesture of compassion, bringing joy to disadvantaged children and ensuring they can celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with happiness this year.

Mr. Anil Viswanathan, Managing Director of Mondelez Kinh Do, shared: "As we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of Vietnam's most cherished traditions, Mondelez Kinh Do is committed to not only preserving the cultural values that unite us but also extending our support to children and communities in need. In light of the recent floods and storms affecting the northern region, we stand together with the people of the North, striving to bring joy and warmth to their Mid-Autumn celebrations. It is our hope that through our efforts, we can help create a fulfilling experience for children and foster a sense of community resilience during these challenging times."

Additionally, as Yagi typhoon continues to cause significant damage and loss to the people in Northern regions, Mondelez Kinh Do, through the S.O.S Food emergency support campaign, has donated over 2,300 cartons of confectionery, equivalent to 66,400 boxes of products, for emergency relief to affected areas in provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Hanoi, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Ha Giang, and Bac Kan, with a total value of approximately 1 billion VND. With this contribution, Mondelez Kinh Do hopes that families in hardship will receive essential food supplies in a timely manner, helping to stabilize their lives.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Chairman of the Vietnam Food Bank, shared: "Mondelez Kinh Do is one of the important strategic partners of the Vietnam Food Bank Network. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company worked with us to urgently provide food supplies to people and healthcare workers not only in Ho Chi Minh City but also nationwide. Once again, Mondelez Kinh Do has left a profound mark on the Vietnam Food Bank Network as well as on those in need, affected by natural disasters, floods, landslides, and the historic Yagi storm, by being a pioneer in providing emergency support to the network to quickly deploy, reach out, and assist more than 10 provinces/cities in the northern region affected by these disasters. This action reflects the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility of the business at a time when people are facing significant challenges."

As one of the world’s leading food companies, Mondelez Kinh Do has always aligned its business activities with social responsibility. Since the beginning of the year, Mondelez Kinh Do, in collaboration with the Vietnam Foodbank network, has provided a total of 50 tons of food and essential supplies, with a total value of approximately 8 billion VND. This meaningful action aims to help families and communities overcome difficulties while showcasing the company’s commitment to supporting disadvantaged individuals and addressing the impact of natural disasters and flooding.
