The 28th International Congress of the International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS 2026) took place from June 16 to 19, 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City — the first time the event has been held in Vietnam — bringing together approximately 3,000 delegates from around the world and nearly 1,000 scientific papers. The congress is a prestigious international forum for the veterinary and pig production community to discuss key trends, from herd health management, antimicrobial resistance, and nutrition to One Health and sustainable development.

The professional highlight of C.P. Vietnam's presence at IPVS 2026 was a satellite symposium on the topic "Transition from Antibiotics to Probiotics in Pig Farming: Practical Conditions", presented by Prof. Dr. Nuvee Prapasarakul of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, drawing more than 200 attendees.

The global momentum toward reducing or eliminating antibiotic use in livestock farming continues to grow, driven by the urgency of addressing antimicrobial resistance, increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, and consumer expectations for food that is safe and responsibly produced. The symposium emphasized that effective probiotic application must be understood within the full context of farm operations — integrated with nutrition, hygiene, biosecurity, and herd health management — rather than treated as a standalone replacement for antibiotics.
