INSEE VIETNAM – JOINING TO DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY

At INSEE, we place social responsibility as a pillar of our Sustainable Development Strategy alongside with other initiatives such as Climate & Energy, Circular Economy, Biodiversity, Water Resource Management, and Occupational Health & Safety. To us, Sustainability plays an important role in both medium and long term vision and strategy. This is considered as the key to actualize our INSEE's brand philosophy of "Build for life", helping build a world where living is more worthwhile.

In July, the Company partnered with universities in launching the "2022 Green Summer" campaigns. Through a series of voluntary activities, INSEE contributed to the construction of concrete roads, helping to change the rural appearance of some localities. At the same time, the Company also successfully organized annual health check activities for the elderly around the INSEE Hon Chong plant’s area with the cooperation of local authorities and governmental medical centers. The activities took place in July, attracting more than 60 volunteers and promoting the spirit of "mutual love" towards the social community of INSEE people; thereby bringing sustainable and long-term values ​​to the community.

Specifically, from 18th to 21st July 2022, together with universities to build a “new countryside”, INSEE Vietnam in cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education and University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City built concrete roads in 3 areas, including Son Phu commune - Giong Trom district, My Hung commune - Thanh Phu district in Ben Tre province and Phu Hiep commune, Tam Nong district in Dong Thap province. These activities are a part of the voluntary programs of INSEE Vietnam partnering with universities in the “2022 Green Summer” campaign. With the spirit of pioneering, volunteering and gearing towards the community, the INSEE team of Volunteers, Youth Unions of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology & Education and the Ho Chi Minh City  University of Technology - Vietnam National University and local representatives created an exciting atmosphere, spreading the strength of solidarity and noble humanistic spirit, and marking a meaningful summer.

In addition to building new rural construction activities with the universities, on 23rd July 2022, INSEE Vietnam in collaboration with a team of voluntary doctors from the Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy worked with the local authorities and governmental medical centers of 2 communes - Binh An and Binh Tri (Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province). Here, INSEE successfully organized the "Community health check program" for those who are aged and disadvantaged at 4 check-up points: the medical center of Binh Tri commune, the headquarter of Song Chinh hamlet, the medical center of Binh An Commune, and the headquarter of Hon Trem Hamlet. The activity helped more than 600 elderly people to receive free medical health check & treatment, health advice and medicines from the program. With the participation of 11 INSEE Volunteers from Hon Chong plant and head office, allocated to 4 health check locations, the volunteers fully expressed the spirit of " One person for everyone, everyone for all", joining hands and sharing the responsibility with the local health centers to give a health check event to the elderly when they came to us.

Through voluntary programs, INSEE Vietnam has firmly promoted the strength of solidarity and the spirit of humanity towards the social community. We constantly strive to balance three goals which are economic growth, environmental protection and social responsibility. In particular, the activities of jointly building for a sustainable community is a crucial pillar that the Company has been focusing on, keeping in line with the brand philosophy of "Build for life" that INSEE has set.

JTI VIETNAM SEQUESTRATES 202 TONS OF CO2 IN THANH HOA, REALISING ITS NET-ZERO CARBON EMISSION AMBITION

To offset CO2 emissions from the company’s production and operational activities, JTI Vietnam has launched many projects from 2020 under the program “Net-Zero Carbon Emission”. In 2022, the company continues to sequestrate 202 tons of CO2 by burying bamboo to create biochar and tending to bamboo forests. Nestlé La Vie accompanies Long An water company in ensuring the supply of household water

La Vie LLC., a member of Nestlé in Vietnam, has accompanied Long An Water Supply Sewerage Joint Stock Company (Lawaco) in upgrading water treatment capacity from surface water in a bid to help Lawaco have additional water supply for people in Tan An city of Long An, meeting increasing water consumption demand while protecting water resource.

JTI VIETNAM PROVIDES HOUSING SOLUTIONS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN HOA BINH AND TIEN GIANG

In June 2022, the Representative Office of JTI Vietnam, in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam, successfully deployed the Housing Solutions for Persons with Disabilities program of 2022. This is a three-year initiative in JTI Vietnam’s Community Investment program, focusing on the construction of new accessible homes for marginalized individuals and minorities, particularly persons with disabilities. Prioritizing inclusivity, the program accommodates housing for various types of disabilities. The program’s outcomes include a standard manual of design features for persons with disabilities, as well as 5 accessible houses that apply features from the manual.

SAMSUNG VIETNAM COMPLETES THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW R&D CENTER
