C.P. Vietnam's sustainable practices towards the Net Zero goal

At the United Nations Climate Change Summit 2021 (COP26), Vietnam made strong promises to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 in order to work together to address climate change on a global scale.

The C.P. Vietnam Corporation consistently highlights the significance of environmental ecological protection during business operations and production, in line with the strategic direction of the C.P. Group. Provide focused actions aimed at reducing negative impacts on the environment along the business operation and supply chain to achieve Net Zero 2050.

Mr. Pawalit Ua Amornwanit - CEO of C.P. Vietnam Corporation stated: "CPV is is clearly aware of the importance of the environment and the responsible use of natural resources throughout our business operations. As a company operating in the agro-industrial and food business, CPV is constantly working to achieve sustainable agriculture and transform into a green corporate by developing a modern, smart, and ecologically responsible production and business model. Be steadfast in building a sustainable development strategy with solid steps, ensuring harmony between economic growth goals that must go hand in hand with environmental and social benefits.”

CPV adopts effective energy use policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions including increasing the rate of renewable energy use (biomass energy, biogas energy, Solar energy), applying innovative technology in the production process and circular economy principles contribute to promoting green and sustainable development. Up to now, renewable energy contributes 38% of energy use in business operation and CPV proudly succeeds in achieving the 100% stop of coal use since 2021.

Additionally, in an effort to maximize output and conserve resources, CPV selects machinery and equipment with low energy consumption and high production efficiency in order to minimize fuel consumption and waste generation in production. On the other side, CPV implements technological innovation by using automated production systems and robots, streamlining production processes and time to reduce energy consumption in factories (Smart Factory)

CPV constantly prioritizes the community through a variety of environmental and social projects in addition to internal company greening initiatives. CPV has been implementing the "CPV - Green Vietnam Journey 2021-2025" project, with the aim of planting and caring for 1.5 million trees in Vietnamese provinces and cities affected by climate change, natural disasters, floods, and other natural disasters, in order to help balance emissions, restore the ecosystem, and support Vietnam's goal of planting 1 billion trees.
