With a mission to deliver snacks made the right way and drive sustainable growth, Mondelez Kinh Do — a member of PRO Vietnam — has developed a clear sustainable packaging strategy. At the 7th Annual General Meeting of the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam), themed "Circular Economy for Packaging: Powered by Science and Innovation," the company presented its sustainable packaging journey with concrete goals and solutions.

Mondelez Kinh Do's sustainable packaging strategy is built on three pillars: Reduce, Redesign, and Collaborate. Reduce aims to optimize packaging structure and cut plastic usage. Redesign focuses on improving packaging recyclability while increasing recycled plastic content in production. On Collaborate, the company actively partners with key players across the value chain — from collection and sorting to recycling — to accelerate the circular economy in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mondelez Kinh Do presented its sustainable packaging journey — centered on circular economy, plastic reduction, material innovation, and recyclability optimization across its product portfolio.
This strategy has delivered clear results. On design transformation, 100% of packaging across Mondelez Kinh Do products is now designed to be recyclable. Multiple product lines use reduced-ink printing, and the Design-for-Recycling (DFR) framework is applied to optimize structure and reduce plastic content from the design stage. On circular ecosystem collaboration, the company works closely with leading domestic partners in collection, sorting, and recycling to improve processing capacity for post-consumer paper and plastic packaging. On material conversion, the company is replacing plastic trays with paper trays, adopting rPET trays, and phasing out complex multi-material structures toward mono-material design for better recyclability. Through automation and material optimization, virgin plastic usage has been significantly reduced year on year.

Beyond packaging, Mondelez Kinh Do demonstrates its community responsibility through the "Trash Right 2026" program — educating students on waste collection, sorting, and recycling, targeting over 12,000 students at 10 primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City in 2026.
From packaging to operations to community — Mondelez Kinh Do is turning sustainability commitments into action, delivering snacks made the right way while contributing to Vietnam's sustainable development.
