On November 18, 2023, the Standing Committee of Long An Provincial Youth Union coordinated with Dow Chemical Vietnam LLC (Dow Vietnam), Maersk Vietnam and Lys Energy Vietnam Company Limited to implement the program "Forest’s Livelihood" in Lam Vien Thanh Nien area, Long An Province. This is a program in response to the "One billion green trees" project by 2025 launched by the Prime Minister to protect the ecological environment, improve landscape, respond to climate change, and social economic development, improving people's quality of life and sustainable development.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Le Thi Hong Ket - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Long An province, Director of the Provincial Youth Activity Center, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong - Deputy Director of the Youth Union of Long An province, Mr. Le Hoang Long - Acting Chairman of Tan Dong Commune People's Committee and more than 100 young people, leaders and employees of all 3 companies.
“We always prioritize implementing community projects with partners to bring greater impact. Tree planting contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, helping to respond to climate change and support for socio-economic development. This mandate aligns with Dow's sustainability goal 2025 to protect the climate, transform the waste and close the recycling loop.” Ms. Nguyen Xuan Kim Phuong, President of Dow Vietnam said.
Also, Ms. Willaume Solène Camille - Regional Director of Lys Energy Vietnam shared "In 2023, our target is to plant 1000 trees across the countries we are operating in. So far we have exceeded this target, however this does not stop us from continuing to contribute to decarbonization."
After the program, these trees will be cared for and managed by Long An province's Thanh Nien Forest Garden.

On November 17th 2023, the final round of the INSEE Prize 2023 concluded successfully in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring the Board of Jury, the top 05 projects selected after two rounds of rigorous evaluation, and esteemed guests. This donation project was implemented by the Project Office of the Resources Exchange International Organization (REI) in Vietnam through the connection of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) with Dow Vietnam.
