Dear Sir/Madam,
It is my pleasure to cordially invite you to the launching event and first round call for proposals of the Vietnam Business Challenge Fund (VBCF).
The Vietnam Business Challenge Fund (VBCF) is a specialized fund designed to support the private sector in Vietnam to develop innovative Inclusive Business models that deliver both commercial benefits for the company and social impact for the low income population including job creation, income improvements and access to affordable goods and services. The VBCF is capitalised by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), and managed by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation.
In order to reduce the risks for companies who may not otherwise engage in inclusive businesses ventures, the VBCF will award non-reimbursable and partial funding of up to 49% of selected proposal budgets to companies operating in Vietnam through competitive calls for relevant business proposals. Funding is available for up to USD 800,000 for proposals in three sectors - agriculture, low-carbon growth and infrastructure and basic services. As such it represents an excellent funding opportunity for pioneering businesses operating in Vietnam.
The launch event will
- introduce the fund,
- explain the call for Inclusive Business proposals, and
- provide details on the application process, requirements and timeline
Following the launch event, businesses interested to apply will have 7 weeks to submit the executive summary proposal by a deadline of January 25th, 2013. The event will be held at 9:30AM, Friday 21st December 2012 . English and Vietnamese simultaneous translation will be available.
We would be delighted if you would be able to attend this event. Please kindly confirm your attendance to the event until December 11th via email: AHaThiNgoc@snvworld.org or calling to: +84 4 37265214.
