Home Credit recognized in Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards for third consecutive year

Embracing ESG principles as a compass for its core business operations, Home Credit continues to lead the sustainability journey in Vietnam’s consumer finance sector.

Home Credit, a pioneer in sustainable consumer finance, has once again been recognized for its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. The company was honored with the “ESG Leadership” award as part of the prestigious Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards 2025 (Top 50 CSA), marking its third consecutive year on the list.

Strong Commitment to Sustainable Business Practices

Organized annually by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine, the Top 50 CSA award honors companies with outstanding sustainability strategies and aims to inspire businesses and the broader community. Candidates are rigorously assessed based on ESG criteria through a comprehensive review by an expert panel.

At Home Credit, sustainability is embedded into the business through practical and measurable solutions. Since 2020, the company has consistently published annual Sustainability Reports. The latest 2024 edition is expected to launch this August.

Jakub Kudrna, Chief Strategy Officer and Chairperson of ESG Steering Group at Home Credit Vietnam, affirmed: “For us, ESG is not just a commitment on paper, but a continuous course of action reflected in our strategic direction, resource allocation, and the close involvement of our leadership team in every decision. This award is a well-deserved recognition of our team’s tireless efforts and a powerful motivator for us to continue advancing our impact.”

Pioneering ESG Governance in Consumer Finance

At a time when ESG was still a relatively new concept in many emerging markets, Home Credit had already begun systematically embedding ESG principles into its business and governance framework from Group level to its local operations in Vietnam. This consistent foundation has enabled Home Credit to implement impactful, scalable sustainability initiatives throughout its 17 years of presence in the country.

The award is a testament to Home Credit’s continuous efforts on its sustainability journey

One standout initiative includes expanding partnerships with electric vehicle providers such as VinFast to introduce green financing offers that promote sustainable consumption. The company has also adopted Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement, aiming to reduce its corporate carbon footprint.

Home Credit is also committed to supporting communities in improving quality of life through practical, impactful solutions. In 2024, the “Home for Life” initiative continued to empower underserved women through startup capital and life skills training in provinces like Thanh Hoa and Dien Bien. Over 850 women received financial literacy education, improving livelihoods for hundreds of households.

With education at the heart of its social investments, the “Home Love” campaign renovated and built three schools in remote areas last year, providing better learning conditions for more than 2,700 students. The company and its employees contributed over VND 8.3 billion to community initiatives, including both company-led and employee-driven volunteer activities.

With a diverse workforce of over 6,700 employees representing 12 nationalities and 19 ethnic groups across Vietnam, Home Credit continues to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The company also invests in skill development, mental and physical well-being, employee engagement, and a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

The Governance pillar in ESG is not merely about regulatory compliance, but a core strategy that enables Home Credit to operate and grow sustainably. The company has built a comprehensive risk management framework across its financial and operational activities, while prioritizing customer data protection to enhance security and improve user experience across all transactions. This strong corporate governance foundation serves as the backbone for Home Credit to further embed ESG principles into its operations, risk management, and business decision-making.
