In line with its commitment to sustainable development, Mondelez Kinh Do continued its partnership with SCGP in organizing Design Speak Out 2026 — marking the third consecutive year the company has joined as a strategic partner. The competition serves as a dedicated platform for university students passionate about innovation in packaging and product design.

Nearly 100 students from universities across Vietnam participated in the program from May to August 2026, going through an intensive bootcamp, expert mentoring sessions, and multiple rounds of professional evaluation. As an expert partner, Mondelez Kinh Do collaborated with SCGP to develop a real-world brief for the Packaging Design category — specifically the Kinh Do Mooncake Giftset Packaging — while providing in-depth guidance to help participants understand the requirements of large-scale manufacturing and the importance of sustainable practices in consumer packaging.
Team ReFold won first prize in the Packaging Design category with their Kham Nguyet project, inspired by the traditional art of mother-of-pearl inlay blended with Vietnamese communal house architecture under the blue hues of a full-moon night. The design features an interactive box structure that transforms into an Ô Ăn Quan board game, and integrates AR technology allowing users to scan a QR code for instant access to interactive content without downloading an app. The embossed Kinh Do logo with a reflective mother-of-pearl finish conveys the message of bringing the moonlight of heritage into every Vietnamese family, embodying the essence of togetherness through "Hoa Vi."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lien, Corporate & Government Affairs Lead at Mondelez Kinh Do, shared: "Three years of partnering with Design Speak Out have shown us one thing clearly — Vietnam's young generation of designers is highly creative and demonstrates a deep understanding of consumers. This is the foundation for creating designs that truly resonate with people. For Mondelez Kinh Do, mooncake packaging is a platform to tell cultural stories, convey the emotions of togetherness, and create lasting value. Young designers today have proven that creativity and sustainability can go hand in hand — and they will be the ones shaping the future of Vietnam's packaging industry."

Alongside the competition, Mondelez Kinh Do and its partners organized a seminar on the Packaging and Design industry, where company representatives participated in evaluating submissions and discussing emerging trends in packaging design. The seminar highlighted that packaging today plays a critical role in brand strategy and corporate sustainability.
This third year of partnership with Design Speak Out reflects Mondelez Kinh Do's long-term commitment to nurturing young talent, equipping them with practical knowledge, creative skills, and a deep understanding of large-scale production processes. It is also how the company contributes to strengthening the industry's competitiveness and laying the foundation for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
