Quang Ninh, 12 June 2020, AES Mong Duong announced its Back to School Support CSR program, which will benefit 1,500 students at the Mong Duong High School and Nguyen Trai Elementary School in Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. The support, worth nearly US$17,000 in total, includes the renovation of lighting systems and improvement of hygiene conditions. The package also includes a donation of digital equipment which will support the digital learning efforts of local teachers and students.
AES Mong Duong’s Representative presented the donation to students at Nguyen Trai Elementary School in Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province.
“New LEDs have been installed in classrooms and meeting rooms in our school. In addition, the company also provided us with computers and printers for our digital learning room. This has provided significant support to us, helping create a safe and supportive learning environment for our students. AES Mong Duong has been our long-term partner and our true supporter.” said Ms. Pham Thi Tin, Principle of Nguyen Trai Elementary school.
At the Mong Duong High School, the drainage system and washing area were renovated, and are now in use on a daily basis by more than 500 students.
“As our school re-opens during the COVID-19 pandemic, we place safety and hygiene at utmost important. That’s why the support has been timely and meaningful, completed right after the kids go back to school.” said Ms. Duong Thi Bich Mai, Principle of Mong Duong High School.
The donation is part of AES Mong Duong’s continuous support to Quang Ninh Province in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. In early May, the company donated nearly US$21,000, which was used to improve the preparedness of local communities and related agencies in fighting COVID-19.

Since 2012, 130 CSR initiatives with a total value of more than US$600,000 have been implemented, focusing on four main pillars – Health, Education, Livelihoods and Infrastructure. The activities have made a lasting difference and contributed to improving the quality of life of more than 200,000 people in neighboring communities in Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province.
Hanoi, Vietnam, Monday, June 01, 2020, Dow Chemical Vietnam LLC (Dow Vietnam) donated the necessary medical supplies to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, including: 1,000 pieces of 3M medical masks and 60 four-liter cans of hand sanitizers, which are worth over VND 100 million. This grant project was implemented by the Project Office of the Resources Exchange International Organization (REI) in Vietnam through the connection of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) with Dow Vietnam. This is a meaningful program, with the desire to support the frontline hospitals to prevent and fight against Covid-19, helping the community health resilience and to join hands with the whole country efforts to effectively prevent and control Covid-19.
