[Hai Duong, July 28, 2020] - Today, Samsung Vietnam cooperates with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to hold the opening ceremony of Hai Duong province's Enterprise Improvement Consultancy Project. The program was attended by Mr. Choi Joo Ho, President of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Complex; Mr. Kim Dong Hwan, Vice President of Samsung Vietnam Shopping Center and representatives of Vietnamese Government agencies including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, departments and branches of Hai Duong Province.

This enterprise improvement consultancy project was conducted according to the Memorandum of Understanding on consultancy program for Hai Duong enterprises in supporting industry between Hai Duong People's Committee, Ministry of Industry and Trade and Industry and Samsung Vietnam, signed in February 2020 at the Supporting Industry Development Consultancy Conference in Hai Duong Province.
The project will be implemented by Samsung in 5 enterprises, 2 of which will be consulted by Korean experts from Samsung: Vietnam Pattern Manufacture and Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd, Dong Bang Co., Ltd. and 3 enterprises, will be consulted by Korean experts of Samsung in collaboration with Vietnamese consultants, who have participated in the training of Samsung consultants, including: Camex Vietnam Co., Ltd, Hien Le Trading and Service Co., Ltd, Nam Quang JSC.

The project was initiated on July 13, 2020, lasting 12 weeks. During this time, Korean experts will conduct surveys, evaluate businesses and directly consult and cooperate with enterprises in Hai Duong province to improve the production process and improve the standards in production and components supply to enhance the capacity of provincial enterprises to participate in the supply chain of components and accessories for Samsung.
Sharing the meaning of the program, Mr. Choi Joo Ho – President of Samsung Vietnam said, “The Vietnamese enterprises support consultancy program is a confirmation of Samsung's commitment as well as its efforts in responding to the Government of Vietnam’s calls for an increase in the localization rate and presence of Vietnamese businesses in Samsung components supply chain. This year, as the first time implementing a consultancy program in Hai Duong, we expect to make spectacular improvements, contribute to improving production capacity for the enterprises here. In particular, this program is also an opportunity for the 11 Vietnamese consultants, who were students of the cooperation program to train Vietnamese consultants between Samsung and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2018-2019 to practice directly. and improve consulting capability, to become a key factor in Vietnam's improvement consultancy activities in the future”
After the launch ceremony of the enterprise improvement consultancy project in Hai Duong province, on July 30, 2020, Samsung Vietnam will continue to launch the Launching ceremony of an enterprise improvement consultancy project in the South.
Recently, Samsung has launched a project to support the training of 200 technicians in 4 years (2020 - 2023) in the field of molds to improve production capacity and autonomy in the molds industry for basic manufacturing industries of Vietnam.
Over the years of searching, connecting and consulting to support Vietnamese enterprises, the number of Tier 1 vendors of Samsung has increased dramatically. If compared to only 4 tier 1 vendors in 2014, by the end of 2019, there were 42 enterprises, expected to be 50 enterprises by the end of 2020.
