After 03 months of launching, the 2022 INSEE Prize competition has presently entered the most exciting stage when the Board of Jury has exceedingly been fair and strict to choose the Top 20 outstanding projects to be in the Semi-final round. Creative topics of Sustainable Construction and Environment from groups of students in the Semi-final have brought many unique & meaningful ideas that probably contribute a great deal of practical value to the community.

As the continuation of tremendous success in previous years, the 2022 INSEE Prize still acts as a beneficial scientific playground for the future young architects and engineers with the aim of encouraging and honoring their initiatives towards Sustainable Construction and Environment. The 2022 INSEE Prize is also a great opportunity for the contestants to apply acquired knowledges & theories into practice and to gain experience for their future career path. The Champion team, moreover, will have a wonderful chance to cooperate with INSEE Vietnam, in combination with receiving advice and guidance from leading experts in the field of Sustainable Construction and Environment, to actualize their “dream” winning project towards the community, partly contributing to the environmental protection and solving some urgent & critical issues arising from the society.
The competition has initially received more than 250 submissions on Sustainable Construction and Environment from student groups all over the nation for the first round. After a rigorous and fair evaluation done by the Board of Jury, 20 Best Projects have been selected to the Semi-final of the 2022 INSEE Prize. The topics that are selected to the Semi-final this year are very diverse, from solutions to save water - energy - ecological landscapes that provide better infrastructure conditions for the community, such as children's playgrounds in hospitals, kindergartens, and community houses, to solutions to logistics, multi-functional playgrounds to propagate high awareness of plastic recycling as well as solutions of biomaterials, etc. The official list of topics selected for the Semi-final is announced on Facebook - Life at INSEE
The teams that advance to the Semi-final of the 2022 INSEE Prize will present their ideas and projects to the Board of Jury, possibly organized in September 2022. The students will, thus, come closer to the opportunity to turn their first dream project into reality and receive many valuable awards.

Ho Chi Minh City, August 19, 2022 – Today, USAID BUILD-IT Program and Dow Vietnam hosted their 4th annual investor-style pitch competition, Maker to Entrepreneur (MEP): Venture Demo Day under the framework of the USAID BUILD-IT and Dow Vietnam STEM Program, for over 100 engineering students and guests from across Vietnam. Young engineers gathered to compete for a total of $1,000 in start-up funding. The business savvy demonstrated by the students exemplified how engineers can use market forces to scale their innovative projects into in demand products.
On 7-8 July, 2022, students awarded ‘AES Future Energy Scholarship’ and lecturers from three universities, namely the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Electric Power University and Hanoi University of Science – Vietnam National University, joined a visit to the Mong Duong 2 Thermal Power Plant.

AES Mong Duong has been awarded the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medal for an eighth consecutive year, in recognition of its practices and achievements in maintaining world-class safety standards in overall health and safety performance, policies and procedures.

To offset CO2 emissions from the company’s production and operational activities, JTI Vietnam has launched many projects from 2020 under the program “Net-Zero Carbon Emission”. In 2022, the company continues to sequestrate 202 tons of CO2 by burying bamboo to create biochar and tending to bamboo forests.
