USSEC continues its dedicated support for Vietnam’s aquaculture sector by championing sustainability practices, showcasing In-Pond Raceway System (IPRS) technology, and promoting the use of U.S. Soy to ten feed mills and aquaculture farms in various provinces of Vietnam in January 2024.
Since its introduction in 2016, IPRS technology has garnered significant interest in Vietnam for its remarkable potential to enhance production efficiency while minimizing environmental impact and operational costs. Through collaborative efforts with USSEC Vietnam, several IPRS farms have been successfully established and operated across both Northern and Southern Vietnam.
The activities in Vietnam kicked off with the visit to Kinh Bac Aqua Feed Mill in Bac Ninh Province, where USSEC consultants shared invaluable industry insights and services. Subsequent visits to Vina Feed Mill in Ha Nam Province underscored the importance of sustainable feed ingredients, particularly U.S. Soy, in promoting aquaculture sustainability.

The USSEC Consultants led Vinh Hoan Corporation’s technical team on a visit to a USSEC Standard Fixed IPRS Demonstration in Ha Nam province to learn how to construct and operate a fixed IPRS farm. The team at Vinh Hoan Corporation also had the opportunity to visit another fixed IPRS farm of Bao Minh company in Hai Phong province.
USSEC Technical Consultants Dr. Bui Ngoc Thanh and Mr. Bui Van Canh as well as representatives from Vinh Hoan Corporation at the Bao Minh Farm to study the IPRS Technology of farming Channel Catfish and Sturgeon.
The team also visited aquaculture farms to implement the USSEC IPRS Technology and conducted feeding demonstrations at Vu Bao Snakehead Farm in An Giang Province, showcasing the nutritional benefits of U.S. Soy-based feed formulations.
Further engagements took place at Sethia Vietnam in Dong Thap Province, where the team surveyed the Soy Oil Factory project and shared more on the U.S. Soy Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP). This protocol is a respected industrywide initiative that demonstrates U.S. soy’s commitment to responsible growing practices and sustainability through setting clear, verifiable standards of industry practice.
These visits served as opportunities to strengthen partnerships and discuss future collaborations. Overall, the activities aimed to introduce USSEC initiatives in aquaculture, highlight the benefits of U.S. Soy and SSAP certification for aquaculture sustainability as well as cultivate a demand for U.S. Soy products in the aquaculture industry.

Visiting food processing factories has been an annual coordination activity of CPV Corporation for many years with schools to create conditions for students to have field trips to the company's factories.
