At the Announcing Ceremony of Sustainable Companies in Vietnam 2024 held on November 29, 2024, C.P. Vietnam Corporation reaffirmed its reputation with a double achievement: “Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam – Manufacturing Sector” & “Top 5 Pioneering Enterprises in Circular Economy Implementation and Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction 2024”.

The CSI 100 Title Announcement Ceremony took place on November 29, 2024, at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Nguyễn Chí Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Planning and Investment, and Vice Chairman of the National Council for Sustainable Development, along with leaders of various ministries, departments, and outstanding businesses excelling in sustainable development. With the theme "Businesses Thriving in the Green Era," the 2024 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam Ceremony marked the ninth consecutive year of dedicated efforts to recognize, promote, and evaluate businesses participating in the Program for Assessing and Announcing Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam (CSI).

During the event, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Senior Vice President of C.P. Vietnam Corporation, accepted the “Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in the Manufacturing Sector” title. Additionally, Mr. Worawit Arunraksa, Assistant Vice President and Manager of the Sustainable Development Department, accepted the “Top 5 Pioneering Enterprises in Circular Economy Implementation and Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction 2024” title on behalf of the company.

The title of “Sustainable Business” is an initiative of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). It evaluates companies based on the CSI Index – a comprehensive measurement tool for sustainable development across economic, environmental, and social dimensions. This index not only helps businesses optimize processes but also serves as a foundation for change management, driving sustainable business operations. C.P. Vietnam has consistently earned the title of “Sustainable Business,” reaffirming the company’s commitment to sustainable development, as well as that of the C.P. Group globally.

Additionally, the “Top 5 Pioneering Enterprises in Circular Economy Implementation and Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction” title highlights the company’s efforts toward its 2030 target: a 15% reduction in direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions per unit of production compared to the 2020 baseline. By 2050, the company aims to achieve net-zero emissions through investments in energy-efficient equipment and machinery, the implementation of energy management systems to monitor consumption, the adoption of renewable energy sources (such as solar and biomass), and the elimination of coal usage since 2021. C.P. Vietnam actively integrates the circular economy model, minimizing environmental impact while supporting the preservation of natural ecosystems. A prominent example of this commitment is the project to plant 1.5 million trees in Vietnam during 2021–2025, comprising 500,000 trees within the company’s factories and farms and 1,000,000 trees through partnerships with local authorities and organizations.

In 2024, the CSI Program attracted nearly 500 enterprises nationwide across various types and sizes, underscoring the growing interest in sustainable development in Vietnam. This notable increase reflects a positive shift in awareness and actions among businesses. During the event, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan emphasized that participating in the CSI 100 program has been pivotal in C.P. Vietnam's sustainability journey. The CSI Index has enabled the company to enhance its management systems, strengthen competitiveness, and build trust among communities, consumers, and supply chain partners. With its integrated 3F Plus model: Feed: Seed and animal/fish feed production, Farm: Livestock breeding and farming, Food: Food processing and distribution, Plus: Sustainability, traceability, and environmental friendliness, C.P. Vietnam’s business sectors collectively contribute to sustainable development. This recognition is the result of collaborative efforts across all departments within the company.
