On December 07, 2024, in response to the "One Billion Trees for a Green Vietnam" program, Dow Vietnam collaborated with the Di Linh District Youth Union, Lam Dong to organize a tree planting activity in Di Linh district. This initiative aims to join hands with the Vietnamese government in raising community awareness about environmental protection and climate change response. The goal is to achieve a forest coverage rate of 42% by 2025, reaffirming Vietnam's commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection in the global context.
The program was attended by Mr. Hang Dong Ka Chien - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Di Linh District, Ms. Le Thi Dao Loan - Secretary of the District Youth Union, Mr. Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, Mr. Le Thanh Thai - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Members' Council of the Forestry Company, Mr. Vinh Son - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Forestry Company, and Mr. Nguyen Hoai Son – Vice President of Dow Vietnam, along with Dow Vietnam employees and their family members, who participated in planting 300 pine trees.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Son – Vice President of Dow Vietnam shared: “At Dow, we believe that balancing economic development and environmental protection is the core element for achieving long-term sustainability. We have been collaborating with conservation organizations to protect and restore natural ecosystems, and we are committed to making positive impacts on the environment and community life throughout our more than 30 years of business operation in Vietnam. Through this tree planting activity, we hope to contribute to increasing forest area, improving ecological value, mitigating the impacts of climate change, and reducing CO2 emissions in the environment.”
Participating in this tree planting program, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hoang - Head of the Forest Protection Department of Di Linh District, Lam Dong, also shared and inspired the responsibility of each person in protecting the living environment, creating a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful environment.
