Dong Thap, September 9, 2025 — C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CPV), in collaboration with the Dong Thap Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, has carried out a large-scale tree-planting plan for 2025. This marks the third consecutive year CPV has partnered with the province to support the government's "One Billion Trees" initiative, as well as its own "Journey for a Green Vietnam 2021-2025."
The launching ceremony was held at Gao Giong Primary School in Phong My commune.
With the theme "Sowing Green, Creating Life”, "C.P. Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam" handed over 122,906 saplings, including valuable and native species such as Shorewood, Oilwood, Flamboyant, and Sour Mangrove, to the Dong Thap Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The provincial and CPV teams then launched tree-planting activities along riverbanks, canals, high-risk landslide areas, residential clusters, schools, and offices across the province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Deputy General Director of CPV's Western Region Fabrication Business, presented a symbolic sponsorship plaque to a representative of Dong Thap province.
Since 2023, CPV has donated over 357,000 seedlings to the province, with a shared belief in collaborating with local communities to build a solid "Green Embankment" to prevent erosion, preserve soil and water, and improve the local environment and quality of life for residents.
Mr. Tran Bao Son, Deputy Director of the Dong Thap Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, delivered the opening remarks.
During this event, "C.P. Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam" officially completed its goal of planting 1 million trees for the community—a significant milestone in its 1.5 million-tree plan for the 2021-2025 period (which includes 500,000 trees within the company and 1,000,000 for the community). This is a proud achievement that demonstrates CPV's commitment and the support of all partners in working towards a green and sustainable future.
Mr. Ngo Thoai, Director of CPV's Dong Thap branch, stated, "This project is not just a commitment but also an integral part of CPV's sustainable business strategy. We believe that every tree planted today will help create a green, clean, and prosperous future. Our partnership with Dong Thap province is a clear testament to this vision, where we align business interests with social and environmental responsibility, moving toward the shared goal of a sustainable Vietnam."
Local residents and CPV volunteers participated in planting trees along the more than 3km-long East Giao Giong riverbank.
With every tree planted, C.P. Vietnam's "Journey for a Green Vietnam" spreads further. The collaboration between businesses, local authorities, and the community not only increases green spaces but also instills a sense of environmental responsibility in every person. With a strategic vision and long-term commitment, C.P. Vietnam continues to build the foundation for a green and clean future, contributing to a sustainable Vietnam.
"For C.P. Vietnam Corporation, sustainable development is not just a commitment but a core foundation, where the interests of the country and the community are always prioritized.
