C.P. Vietnam Corporation Acts Together for Marine Ecosystems

Ho Chi Minh City, October 18, 2025 – C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CPV), in collaboration with the Youth Social Work Club, the Vung Tau Ward Youth Union, the Student Association of Ba Ria – Vung Tau University, the Regional Defense Force Zone 5 – Tam Long, and local authorities, successfully organized the Coastal Cleanup Program at Tam Thang Tower Square, Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

This event is part of CPV’s annual campaign to raise awareness about environmental protection, especially marine conservation, among the public. It also reaffirms the company’s strong commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

More than 500 volunteers, including CPV employees, partners, local government representatives, armed forces, and students, participated in the event. Their collective efforts created a meaningful image of solidarity and community responsibility, demonstrating CPV’s concrete actions and the community’s shared determination to protect marine ecosystems that are increasingly threatened by pollution.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Worawit Arunraksa, Sustainability Development Manager of C.P. Vietnam, emphasized the importance of the activity:

As a leading enterprise in the agro-industrial and food sector, C.P. Vietnam deeply recognizes that protecting the ocean is no longer a choice but a vital responsibility—for the future of the next generations and the sustainability of our value chain. Today’s beach cleanup represents our strongest commitment: C.P. Vietnam is ready to lead and take action for a cleaner environment and a healthier ocean.”

“Green Station – Exchange Plastic for Gifts”: Small Action, Big Meaning

A highlight of the program was the activity “Green Station – Exchange Plastic for Gifts”, where participants could bring 10 plastic bottles to exchange for meaningful gifts. This activity not only created a cheerful atmosphere but also raised community awareness about recycling and plastic waste reduction, giving a “new life” to discarded plastic bottles.

All collected waste was sorted and transferred to specialized recycling partners to be reintroduced into the production cycle, contributing to the implementation of the circular economy model and reducing marine waste pollution.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that C.P. Vietnam has participated in the “Let’s Clean the Sea” campaign and other community activities, with a total of over 10 tons of waste collected over the years.

A Step Forward in the Long-Term Plastic Waste Reduction Strategy

The Coastal Cleanup in Vung Tau is part of C.P. Vietnam’s long-term strategy to reduce plastic waste. The company has made a strong commitment to implementing the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policy. To fulfill this responsibility and comply with new state regulations on packaging management, C.P. Vietnam officially joined PRO Vietnam in 2024. This cooperation reflects the company’s strong focus on EPR, supporting national goals and promoting compliance with packaging management regulations within the business community.

In addition, CPV consistently applies the Circular Economy principles throughout its entire supply chain—from production, packaging to distribution—through practical actions such as:

  • Reducing the use of single-use materials;
  • Increasing the use of recycled materials;
  • Eliminating unnecessary plastic packaging.
  • Commitment to Sustainable Development and a Greener Vietnam

For C.P. Vietnam Corporation, sustainable development is not just a commitment but a core foundation, where the interests of the nation and the community are always prioritized. The company continuously strives to build a sustainable economic ecosystem that harmonizes with society and the environment, ensuring that every step of C.P. Vietnam contributes to a greener, more prosperous, and sustainable Vietnam.”
