C.P. Vietnam Corporation Drives ESG Strategy in Supply Chain

Hanoi, November 20, 2025 – C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CPV) successfully hosted the “Capacity building 2025” under the theme “Sustainable Corporate Governance towards ESG.” The event marked a clear transition from a standard networking event to an in-depth forum on sustainable supply chain development. It aimed to foster ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance) practices, with the participation of over 100 of C.P. Vietnam’s strategic suppliers.

With the theme “Sustainable Corporate Governance towards ESG” reflects C.P. Vietnam’s consistent orientation, positioning ESG as the foundation of its business operations and a common standard for its entire supplier ecosystem. In the context of rapidly changing environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and consumer trends, C.P. Vietnam recognizes that ESG is no longer an option, but a mandatory condition for enhancing long-term competitiveness.

At the conference, C.P. Vietnam shared its process for building an ESG-based supplier evaluation and development system. This system is designed to be transparent, applicable across various supplier groups, and combines internal assessment, self-assessment, and independent review. The company is also implementing support programs to help suppliers improve criteria related to risk management, energy usage, occupational safety, and environmental protection.

Discussion panel at the conference

The panel discussion facilitated a deep dive into practical perspectives from businesses within the supply chain, offering an opportunity for suppliers to frankly discuss the challenges of transitioning to ESG criteria. These challenges include the costs of technology investment, requirements for data transparency, and pressure on management capacity. And C.P. Vietnam shared its own applied experiences, such as optimizing energy consumption, developing sustainable packaging, implementing emission reduction models, managing animal welfare, and building a comprehensive traceability system across the entire production chain.

Mr. Chamnnan Wangakkarangkul – Executive Vice President emphasized: “ESG not only helps businesses meet international standards but also creates long-term value for the entire partner network. When suppliers transition together, transparency and operational efficiency are elevated, thereby mitigating risks and improving product quality”

Based on the discussions, C.P. Vietnam aims to build a sustainable supplier ecosystem where each partner becomes a proactive link in the ESG transformation. This includes commitments to data transparency, compliance with environmental and social standards, emission reduction, promotion of the circular economy, and raising governance standards to meet international requirements. According to C.P. Vietnam, the suppliers’ commitment is the decisive factor for the company to maintain the quality of closed 3F (Feed – Farm – Food) production model and meet consumer expectations for safe, transparent, and sustainable products.

C.P. Vietnam honors 5 outstanding suppliers at the event

The event was also an occasion for C.P. Vietnam to acknowledge and honor outstanding contributing suppliers. However, the core message emphasized was not merely recognition, but inspiring businesses in the chain to continue enhancing their capacity and proactively innovating. C.P. Vietnam believes that every supplier attending the conference can become a prime example of a sustainable transition journey in Vietnam.

For C.P. Vietnam Corporation, sustainable development is not just a commitment but a core foundation, where the benefits of the nation and the community are always prioritized. The company constantly strives to build a sustainable economic ecosystem that harmonizes with society and the environment, ensuring that every step taken by C.P. Vietnam is for a green, prosperous, and sustainably developed Vietnam.”
