Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, August 06th, 2022 – SCG Chemicals (SCGC) and its subsidiary Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP) - owner of the first integrated petrochemicals complex in Vietnam in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City planted 400 trees in the area of Nui Lon (Vung Tau City), equivalent to 3.26 hectares of forest.
Ho Chi Minh City, August 2nd, 2022: Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Company (BM PLASCO), a SCG’s member in Vietnam, was named one of the Top 50 Best Listed Firms in 2022 by Forbes Vietnam Magazine. BAT Vietnam's "Women's Empowerment" program initially helped 40 women and their families in Long An province to overcome their difficulties. According to a report released in July 2022 by the Women's Union of Duc Hue district in Long An province, with the financial support of BAT as well as the attention of local authorities, 40 women in two communes in the border areas received much-needed support to overcome difficulties and improve their livelihoods.

Following the solar project that was implemented in Q1 2022, in July 2022, BAT Vietnam was officially awarded the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) certificate.
To offset CO2 emissions from the company’s production and operational activities, JTI Vietnam has launched many projects from 2020 under the program “Net-Zero Carbon Emission”. In 2022, the company continues to sequestrate 202 tons of CO2 by burying bamboo to create biochar and tending to bamboo forests. This initiative is implemented by JTI Vietnam in Thanh Hoa, in partnership with Water Solutions SEA.
