Monday, June 22nd, 2020 (9:00 AM – 12:30 PM) Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Building University-Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology (BUILD-IT) Alliance, Arizona State University (ASU) and the Dow Vietnam STEM Program launched the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) program in Vietnam in January 2018. The EPICS program is an internationally recognized multi-disciplinary social entrepreneurship challenge for STEM student teams to collaboratively brainstorm, design, prototype, and test their engineering-based solutions to local challenges.
To celebrate the World Environment Day 2020, Dow Vietnam Team joined hands with our plastics road partner Deep C to organise #PullingOurWeight 2020 program in Hai Phong City. More than 200 volunteers from Dow Vietnam Team, Dow customers, local waste collector, Deep C and its tenants participated in this meaningful clean-up activity. Quang Ninh, 12 June 2020, AES Mong Duong announced its Back to School Support CSR program, which will benefit 1,500 students at the Mong Duong High School and Nguyen Trai Elementary School in Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. The support, worth nearly US$17,000 in total, includes the renovation of lighting systems and improvement of hygiene conditions. The package also includes a donation of digital equipment which will support the digital learning efforts of local teachers and students.
Hanoi, Vietnam, Monday, June 01, 2020, Dow Chemical Vietnam LLC (Dow Vietnam) donated the necessary medical supplies to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, including: 1,000 pieces of 3M medical masks and 60 four-liter cans of hand sanitizers, which are worth over VND 100 million. This grant project was implemented by the Project Office of the Resources Exchange International Organization (REI) in Vietnam through the connection of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) with Dow Vietnam. This is a meaningful program, with the desire to support the frontline hospitals to prevent and fight against Covid-19, helping the community health resilience and to join hands with the whole country efforts to effectively prevent and control Covid-19.
