On 26 May 2022, the AES 2022 Annual Safety Day was celebrated both virtually and in person at the Mong Duong 2 power plant and Hanoi Office, with the participation of AES Vietnam team and our local contractors.

Safety Day this year marks the return after a long fight against the pandemic. Under the theme “All together, we are stronger”, Safety Day 2022 celebrations highlighted AES Vietnam’s continuing commitment to safety and the importance of safe working practices.

“We have been working All Together as a team to adapt ourselves, guarantee everyone’s Safety first and continue our operations by delivering energy solutions with the Highest Standards. I would like to thank each and every one of AES Vietnam’s people and contractors for the dedicated efforts in always putting Safety first at work and at home, while continuing to honor our commitment to providing safe and reliable energy to local communities and the people of Vietnam.” said, Mr. David Stone, President of AES Vietnam. 

The main activities of the Annual Safety Day include the messages from AES global management team, as well as local session with individual and group initiatives that emphasize the value of Safety First. Other interesting activities were included, such as the 2022 Rescue and First Aid competition, the ‘We are Safety Leaders’ competition, the AES safety culture contest and Scaffolding & Rigging and First Aid training.

As one of the key highlights in the Safety Day celebration, the 2022 Rescue and First Aid competition is designed to enhance knowledge exchange and sharpen the rescue and first aid skills of our emergency response team. The competition is organized to maximize the creativity of our talent, improve the spirit of teamwork among employees, raise awareness and demonstrate the concept of leading with safety, and enhance fun through work.

Through the Annual Safety Day, we demonstrate our commitment to enhancing awareness of occupational health and safety, as well as improving the working environment and preventing occupational incidents for employees and contractors.” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lap, EHS Team leader, AES Mong Duong.
