With the aim of moving towards sustainable changes in the food sector and following the direction of the National Action Plan "Transforming the food system towards transparency, accountability, and sustainability in Vietnam", "Sustainable Food Forum 2023" was organized by the Foodshare Sustainable Food Development Network in collaboration with the Transparent Food Association (AFT) on October 12, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City. This is also a meaningful activity in the series of events to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of World Food Day (16/10/1979–16/10/2023).

Vietnam Corporation (CPV) is always thinking of how to both "prevent food waste" and “provide food to disadvantaged people”. At the forum, Ms. Le Nhat Thuy presented information with the theme "Sustainable food for a sustainable future", revolving around the issues of concern about the food situation in Vietnam and around the world and the efforts that CPV is making to combat food waste and loss and develop an agricultural industry that produces sustainable food. Demonstrating the sustainable development goal of CP Group comes from the philosophy of three benefits: "benefits for the country, for the people, and for the company". Economic development goals must always go hand in hand with sustainable development goals according to the three pillars of "food security, self-sufficient society, and balance of nature", and "no more poverty, no more food waste". In addition, the company also sets environmental goals such as reducing emissions, moving towards Net Zero 2050 enterprises, production, and business activities towards balancing the ecosystem, preserving biodiversity, and converting waste from the production process into valuable products that reduce negative impacts on the environment."

Within the framework of the event, there were in-depth presentations and workshops on "opportunities to transform the global food system" and "challenges of implementing sustainability goals in food production and consumption" by representatives of MARD, the Center for Environmental Protection and Climate Change Response (CEPVN), other units, organizations, and enterprises. At the event, the honoring ceremony "Outstanding Achievements: Sustainable Food Development Initiatives and Efforts (Food Hero Awards 2023)" was also held to recognize and honor individuals, collectives, and businesses who have made efforts throughout the journey to develop the values of food for the community. C.P. Vietnam Charity Fund is to be honored for contributions through many positive activities, bringing great impacts in ensuring community health and nutrition food towards self-sufficient society in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Mr. Sooksunt Jiumjaswanglerg – Vice Chairman of the CPF was also honored to receive the "Lifetime Dedication" award (Food Hero Awards 2023) for his dedication in the journey with farmers to develop the agricultural industry, improve food quality, and ensure adequate nutrition for Vietnamese people. With the experience gained from CP Group, he applied outstanding technological advances to develop the livestock industry in both quantity and quality, gradually changing the mindset of effective farming for millions of Vietnamese farmers during nearly 30 years towards "C.P. Vietnam is Vietnamese, serving Vietnamese people".
