In order to urgently provide 8 million medical masks completely free of charge to society, Thai husbandry giant C.P. Vietnam (CPV) has just inaugurated its CPPC medical mask factory in Binh Dinh province and kicked off the Mask for Humanity project.
Attending the inauguration ceremony of the mask factory on July 28, there were representatives of the Ministry of Health and other agencies and associations, as well as officials from Binh Dinh province, and Thai Ambassador Tanee Sangrat. On the side of businesses, the event was attended by Montri Suwanposri, CEO of CPV; Le Nhat Thuy, deputy general director of CPV cum chair of CPV’s Donation Fund; and Atirote Puangsuwan, general director of CPPC Outdoor Wear Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The CPCC medical mask factory is located at CPPC Outdoor Wear Vietnam, a subsidiary of C.P. Group in Phu Tai Industrial Zone, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province. The factory applies modern technology, with all machines and equipment imported from Thailand and production lines following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016).
The medical masks produced at CPPC will be triple-layered, including two layers of non-woven fabric and one layer of antibacterial fabric. The majority of the raw materials are imported from reputable Thai suppliers. Initially, the factory's production capacity is expected to reach 1.2 million units a month, at a quality similar to goods exported to Europe and North America.
The Mask for Humanity project was also launched to contribute to the country's fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic by CPV in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Vietnam Youth Federation, Vietnam Young Physician Association, and CPV’s Donation Fund. The project will provide 8 million medical masks to health staff, police personnel, and border guards, as well as poor people.
At the inauguration ceremony, Montri Suwanposri, CEO of CPV said that the CPPC factory signifies the group's commitment to proactively fulfill its corporate social responsibility and protect the community in its time of need.
“This is the message that CPV has been sending since the very first day of opening our gates in Vietnam more than 27 years ago: to be grateful and repay the country. This also confirms the three benefits that Thailand’s C.P. Group follows, including benefits for the country, for people, and for the company (including all employees),” Montri Suwanposri said.
A few days ago, reacting to the new infections detected in Danang, Mask for Humanity supplied 300,000 medical masks for free to offices in charge of pandemic prevention and the city's poor residents.
